NECA tweeted a photo of their upcoming Aliens light-up egg with launching facehugger. The shot shows off how it will look in its packaging. Sadly, because of the light-up and launching features, it won’t be in scale with the current line of 7″ NECA Aliens figures, but it should make a cool display piece.

Hot Toys has revealed a slew of official images for their upcoming 1/6 scale 1966 Batman and Robin action figures. It seems everybody has the 1966 Batman fever lately. Mattel currently has a 6″ toy line out, NECA is releasing a 1/4 scale Adam West Batman later this year, and now Hot Toys! I think it’s amazing that this era of Batman has persisted so well over the decades, and always seems to have great selling merchandise.

Three new Masters of the Universe Classics figures were revealed over this past weekend at the 2013 Power-Con. Blade, from the live action 1987 Masters of the Universe movie, Scorpia, from the Princess of Power cartoon series, and the oversized figure of Battle Lion, King Grayskull’s mount from the 2002 MYP cartoon series. Also shown off was the official box art for the upcoming Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull playset.

Fellow customizer, and good friend John Mallamas (AKA Jin Saotome) has several auctions up right now that are, as the title implies, a customizer’s dream. About once a year he auctions off several lots of random action figure fodder, and it’s that time right now. All of the lots are priority medium flat rate boxes filled to bursting with random pieces. Jay asks: Does Mattel have the rights to utilize the MOTU looks in the new DC Masters of the Universe comic book? Would it be possible to get figures of these designs somewhere down the line, possibly as an SDCC exclusive set or something?
We do, but right now we are focused on using every slot to complete the vintage roadmap by the end of 2015.

I recently picked up the NECA Predator 2 Trophy Wall display and it is truly amazing. I haven’t had the time to do a real review, but I couldn’t resist taking this awesome photo and showing it off. I used some gels over my lights to get the red glowing effect that the inside of the Predator ship had at the end of Predator 2. NECA posted a picture of a behind the scenes of an in-progress sculpt for an unnamed figure. The photo shows off a shirtless male torso with scars on the chest and wearing what looks to be the jade necklace that Rambo wears in First Blood Part 2. NECA was being very coy in the tweet and did not spill the beans on what character the sculpt is for, though it seems pretty unbelievable that it could be anyone but John Rambo from First Blood Part 2. When it’s fully revealed what this figure is, you can bet it will be posted here.
