10 DC Comics Characters too Obscure for Club Infinite Earths
I’ve always thought that the DC Universe Classics toy line had one of the most large and diverse character selections of any action figure line ever, excluding Minimates. Sure, there were a few variants of the big two sprinkled here and there, but it was mostly full of unique, sometimes wildly obscure characters (Omac? Jemm? Kamandi???). While that was fantastic for collectors, it seemed to ultimately be what drove sales down and sent the toy line into the online exclusive DC Universe Signature Collection through Club Infinite Earths on Mattycollector. When that toy line began, it was with the understanding that it would be the best avenue to get the most wanted, obscure characters out to collectors to help us flesh out our own DC universe. Still, I can’t help feeling that there are some areas of the DC Universe that Mattel will never get the chance to, or just doesn’t want to, touch.
So what I’ve done here is I’ve assembled what I consider to be the 10 most obscure DC comics characters that will most likely never get an action figure in Club Infinite Earths. My criteria for deciding these came down to researching forums to see which characters got suggested the least (or not at all), and which of them I would actually want to see made into action figures. I’ll even suggest possible accessories where applicable. And just so you know before reading, yes these are all 100% characters that I would buy figures of in a heartbeat. You might not agree that every character on this list deserves a figure, and that’s totally cool. But hopefully you at least get a kick out of the list assembled here, and maybe even learn something about some of the most obscure DC characters out there. So let’s start!

News – 2013 SDCC Exclusives G.I. Joe/Transformers Crossover Set Revealed
Among all of Hasbro’s 2013 SDCC exclusive reveals today is their latest G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover set. And this year’s is a doozy! This years set features a repainted G.I. Joe V.A.M.P. Jeep made to look like the Autobot Hound and a Skystriker repainted to look like Autobot Jetfire. The set also includes figures of Snake-Eyes with an Autobot logo on his chest, the Baroness with Ravage (complete with chain around his neck for her to hold on to), Decepticon Buldgeon reimagined as a robotic Samurai warrior (3.75″), and Blaster with cassettes in boombox form. Wow! Talk about one heck of a set.
What you expect that to cost? What if I told you it’s going to cost $99.99! It might seem steep to some, but considering everything this comes with, I personally think it’s a great deal. And like with previous G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover sets, the packaging on this one pays homage to the old G.I. Joe/Transformers crossover mini-series that was released by Marvel in the 80s.

Huge Dremel Product Sale on Amazon Right Now!
Hey everyone. I wanted to let all you customizers out there know that there’s a huge sale of Dremel products on Amazon right now. A lot of stuff is near 50% off, and it says you get $10 off if you spend over $125. I have no idea how long it’s supposed to last, but for all the customizers out there this could be really useful. And for anyone thinking of getting into customizing, this is a great place to start, since the Dremel is probably the most invaluable tool to the customizer. Here is the general link to the Dremel sale, but look below for my recommended list of essential Dremel products to get anyone started customizing!
The Dremel Stylus is, in my opinion, the perfect Dremel tool. The grip alone makes is so much easier to hold for long periods of time without cramping or hurting your hand. Not to mention it’s cordless, so you don’t have to worry about cords getting in your way. And this set comes with a ton of different bits. | The Dremel MultiPro Chuck is probably my favorite Dremel product. This allows you to work with any Dremel bit of any size, without having to constantly change out the collets, which used to be the most annoying part of using a Dremel before I discovered this. | ||
The Dremel 160 Piece Accessory Kit has, as the name suggests, 160 different pieces. It’s got several sized cutting discs, metal brushes, and even dremel bits for polishing. This is an awesome set that gives you lots of spare bits and pieces at an amazing price. | The Dremel Rotary Tool Work Station is generally meant for the regular Dremel tools, without the grip that the Stylus has, but can still be useful regardless. It’s great for helping with precision drilling, as well as lathing. You never have to worry about the Dremel skipping off where you’re trying to work and scratching up your figures in places you didn’t mean to! |
I really hope this sale helps a lot of people out there stock up on tools and supplies to help them in their customizing endeavors.
