It’s that time again for Ask Mattel. If you’d like to ask Mattel a question about any of its brands, leave them as comments to this post. I’ll pick five out of the bunch to be answered on May 15th, 2013. All questions need to be submitted by 11:59 PM CST on April 30th, 2013.
Action Figure Insider has gotten a first look at the Batman Classic TV Series “Julie Newmar” Catwoman. The Mattel figure is part of their 6″ Batman Classic TV Series line of figures. This picture is of the paint master, which does not have the figure’s articulation set yet. But rest assured, it will be just as articulated as the rest of the figures in the line.

Review Round-Up is back again with a look at the reviews from the first two weeks of April! The plan going forward will be for this feature to go bi-weekly. Once a week seems too often and once a month was just way too big! This week we’ve got a good spread with over a hundred links!
This list of reviews from around the net covers the first two weeks of April 2013 (1st-14th). The list includes 129 reviews from thirty different sites!. The reviews are all categorized by major brands, independent releases such as Onell or Spy Monkey are listed under the “7th Market” heading, and smaller brands are grouped together under Miscellaneous. Huge thanks to NoisyDvL5 at itsalltrue.net for starting this and helping to make the toy community grow.
Continue after the jump for the full list, and remember: The offsite reviews do not necessarily reflect the views of me or Mint Condition Customs.

Holy inquiries, Batman! The fans have spoken, and they have a lot of questions about the upcoming 1966 Adam West Batman toy line that Mattel is putting out. It’s not too surprising though, there is a lot of buzz surrounding it. So yes, this round is mostly Batman related questions. But enough from me, let’s get to the Q&A!
Black Arbor asks: At Toy Fair in February, we saw the mock-up packaging for the 60′s batman figures. Now, on the Batman and Robin two pack with a wall display base, Robin’s word balloon says “Holy High-rise, Batman!” which is perfectly fine, considering it’s a building side display, but for the single figure packaging his word balloon says the same thing. Is it possible to have Robin’s word balloon on each figures card be different? For example, maybe Batman’s packaging could have him saying ” Holy Happenstance!” and the Riddler’s packaging could have him saying ” Holy inquisition!”. Again, this is just a suggestion, and I’m very excited for these figures!
Holy Interesting Idea! The Classic TV Series Batman line is scheduled to hit shelves this summer. You’ll have to check out the packaging then!
CAL asks: Looking forward to the Batman 1966 line. Has Mattel considered releasing the Romero Joker with a Joker utility belt ? Those episodes where among my very top favorites of the show.

Hot Toys has posted some photos of them unpacking their 1/6 scale The Bat prototype at their warehouse. This thing is so big it has to be shipped in a crate!
Please keep in mind that this is just the prototype they take with them to display at toy shows. The actual production piece will be on a 1/12 scale, and not a 1/6 scale. This is obviously due to the astronomical cost it would take to not only produce it, but to ship it. Websites such as IGN and One Sixth Republic reported months ago that The Bat would indeed be in a 1/12 scale. While this comes at a blow to the 1/6 lovers out there, this is no doubt great news to those who collected Mattel’s Dark Knight Rises 6″ figures. Theoretically, this should be in the perfect scale for them.

I just received, and likewise I expect that anyone who is a subscriber to any of Mattycollector’s brands received an email linking to a survery. The survey is just one question, and it deals with Mattel looking into new shipping options, to help save you money.
