Hey everyone! Here are the answers to the questions submitted by you for April 1st, 2013 as a part of Ask Mattel. Check ’em out!

Donald M asks: Toyguru has already assured us there won´t be another price increase in 2014-2015 for MotU, is this still correct

For 2014 the prices will be flat. We are too far off from 2015 to give any details. It is possible prices may increase again in 2015 or 2016 depending on what happens to the costs we can’t control like raw material and labor.

Tom asks: Since the DCUC LEGION 12 pack sold decently that is was released twice and the current DCIE is limited each year, what about offering more LEGION characters as a club similar to how the WATCHMEN is done. If a 5 pack set was released every quarter it would almost complete the team. There would be a bunch of minimal sculpt figures like Dream Girl, Element Lad and Shadow Lass, but the Club wold help cover costs for sculpts Like Blok and Tellus. Could a survey be done to see if there is interest?

News – Mattel 1966 Batman Cesar Romero Joker Figure Revealed

Over at Action Figure Insider, they got the scoop on the reveal of Mattel’s Cesar Romero Joker from their upcoming 1966 Batman Movie Masters toy line. I have to say, it looks very awesome and makes my own custom Cesar Romero Joker look obsolete. And unless it’s just hidden in the photo, he doesn’t seem to have full leg articulation, but it is supposed to be a prototype, so I’m sure that will change.

Ask Mattel – Answers for March 15th, 2013

Mattel Mattycollector Logo

Hey everyone! I know I should have had this posted on Friday, but this past weekend was so crazy for me I just wasn’t anywhere near my computer! But here it is now, and hopefully is informative enough to make up for the delay. Onto the Q&A!

It seems that the only characters revealed for the 60′s Batman line (with the exception of swim trunks Batman) are the characters that appeared in the movie. Now, I know it’d be tough to sell kids a Book worm, Louie the Lilac or Chief O’Hara figure, but are there going to be more characters than the ones announced? I don’t need specifics, but I’d love to have more from this line.

For 2013 the line consists of the figures that were announced at NYTF. Now we announced, but did not yet reveal the Catwoman and The Joker figures – so be on the lookout for those images soon!

It was announced that the CIE 2013 line was to have no new sculpts. Not that I’m going to complain because we are getting her, but how is Huntress not a new sculpt figure? Or does this mean Mattel is approving more ‘buck figures’ with extra add-ons for the CIE line?

New Custom Figure – Super Posable Eddie Brock Venom

Hey everybody! I know it’s been a while since I posted a new custom. Been busy working on them! Anyway, today I bring you a new Venom custom. I took the new Marvel Select Venom figure and modded the heck out of it. Fully repainted, with clean, crisp detailing, and updated articulation. Before, he wasn’t very posable. Now, he’s super posable, thanks to my dremel, and some splicing I did with another Venom action figure.

Venom here is also currently on eBay. If you’re interested, you can bid on it, or if you know someone who might be, pass the link along!

Hey everybody! Here’s the full Q&A for the March 1st Ask Mattel session. Some of the questions have already been answered since these questions were submitted, and some just weren’t answered at all. Still, there’s some good information this round. Read on!

Can you tell us the exact height of the Castle Grayskull prototype shown at Toy Fair? A lot of people seem to be complaining that it’s much shorter than originally proposed on the B-Sheet, but to my eyes it looks almost the same height. So I was wondering if we could get the exact dimensions on that to compare to the original B-Sheet. Thanks.

We just posted a video on Youtube/Facebook showing it compared to the vintage and 2002 Castles. It is about 23″ tall.

I love the upcoming 1966 Batman movie masters toy line. It looks amazing. Can you tell us how you guys came to the decision of making this a mass market release? It seems weird that a toy line based on a TV show from almost 50 years ago is getting such a big release, and gets a 6″ scaled Batmobile to boot. Is it a push by WB? Or is memoribilia from that era of Batman just still that popular that it’s a safe bet the figures will sell?
