The website Rebelscum is reporting a rumor that Hasbro is working with Gentle Giant to create a line of highly detailed, super articulated line of 6″ action figures based on Star Wars. Hasbro and Gentle Giant already work together on the the Marvel Legends line, but every time Hasbro has been asked in the past about the possibility of a 6″ Star Wars line they’ve said they have no plans.

It’s that time again for Ask Mattel. If you’d like to ask Mattel a question about any of its brands, leave them as comments to this post. I’ll pick five out of the bunch to be answered on February 15th, 2013. All questions need to be submitted by 11:59 PM CST on January 31st, 2013.
This list of reviews from around the net covers the week of January 14th-20th. The list includes seventy-three reviews from twenty-nine different sites!. While browsing BigBadToyStore today, I came across something interesting. It was a bunch of new products from a company called Hobby Base, and they’re perfect for customizers, like myself. It’s a bunch of different figure joints of varying sizes and colors, various strips and sheets of plastic, and just generally a bunch of really cool stuff that I know I could use. I’m always on the lookout for random ball joints to help make figures more posable, and I think this is amazing.

Lead was the last DC figure sold on Mattycollector back in 2012, and has the great distinction of being the final member of the Metal Men! That’s right, Lead rounds out the whole classic team. He’s known as the somewhat slow-witted member of team, but always essential. Being made from lead, he features the same properties as his namesake. In addition to shape shifting and changing size, Lead is able to block harmful radiation and protect his fellow teammates, or civilians, by turning into a large wall or shield. Back when DC Universe Classics was still going at retail, I always wondered why they never made Lead. Platinum and Tin I could understand, since female character action features seem to always be dubious, and Tin is so small. But Lead seemed perfect for it. Well, it took them a while, but they finally got around to making him. And man, was I excited to get him in the mail. So join me as I take a closer look at the DC Universe Signature Collection Lead figure and see if he lives up to the excitement.

Have you slowed down, or stopped altogether, on collecting Masters of the Universe Classics? Mattel wants to know why. There’s an official Mattel poll over on He-Man.org, posted by Scott Neitlich (AKA ToyGuru) asking why you’ve changed your MOTUC collecting habits. If you’re still a happy, passionate collector, you need not take the poll. However, if you are feeling lackluster in regards to MOTUC, take the poll and let Mattel know why. This seems like a great way to crowd source and maybe help Mattel make some changes to the line that will help it in the long run.

One of the most appealing aspects about Mattel’s DC Universe Signature Collection is the idea of team completions. Mattel had started several different character teams in DC Universe Classics, and their mission statement for the online exclusive toy line was to help complete teams, and give fans the lesser known characters that wouldn’t work at retail. I think the majority feel that Mattel is doing right by the fans in that regard. The subject of today’s review illustrates that very well.
Platinum and Tin are members of the Metal Men, a group of androids created by scientist Dr. Will Magnus. Each of the team members were infused with certain natural elements (Tin, Platinum, Lead, Iron, Gold, and Mercury). They each have their own distinct personalities thanks to Dr. Magnus’ “responsometers” (i.e. a sciency sounding thing that does what it needs to do, because comics). Platinum represents the only female member of the team. It’s clear why she wasn’t made at retail; not only is she a lesser known character, but she’s female! The “dreaded female action figure” usually doesn’t fare well at mass retail. But alas, Mattel has finally brought her to fruition, and she’s bringing along the Miniature Meek Metal Man, Tin! So join me as I take a closer look at Platinum and Tin.

Hey there! NoisyDvL5 over on It’sAllTrue.Net has been super busy with a move he just undertook. Unpacking boxes, and setting everything up, and it’s caused him to not be able to put new content on the site for the time being. So this week he’s having a guest review week, and asked me to partake. I jumped at the chance! I love doing guest reviews for other sites, since it usually lets me learn to write reviews in different formats, and lets me gauge how other audiences see my work (and hey maybe gain some new viewers in the process).
I wanted to do something different for the review. Something that wasn’t your usual action figure. So I opted for the new LEGO DC Universe Superheroes The Bat Vs. Bane: Tumbler Chase Dark Knight Rises set. So just CLICK HERE to read the guest review I did for IAT and hopefully enjoy!
Mosquitor has always been one of the more interesting Masters of the Universe characters, at least to me. It’s also definitely been anticipated by a certain well known MOTUC figure reviewer. As someone who has absolutely loved monsters, even as a kid, I always thought the Horde was really cool. So many of them had obvious homages to the classic Universal Monsters, so that appealed to me. I always thought of Hordak as sort of the Count Dracula of the Horde, but I think it’s safe to say that Mosquitor is definitely closer related to vampires, considering he actually drinks blood. And not only does he drink it, he forces his victims to watch as their own blood fills him up via that clear chest plate of his. It’s something that’s kind of gruesome for a kid’s toy line, and certainly something you wouldn’t see in any kids toy lines today.
With the addition of Mosquitor in the Masters of the Universe Classics toy line, it helps bolster the ranks of The Evil Horde, so I was excited to get him from Mattycollector. Join me as I take a closer look at Mosquitor and see if he lives up to the expectations.

Evil Energy-Draining Insectoid™REAL NAME: Bliddeon Black
A Kribleen insectoid vampire from the Gluubux Galaxy, Mosquitor™ joined The Evil Horde™ on his own accord, preferring the Empire to life in a mud hole on his home world. Looking like a normal insectoid, Mosquitor™ moves in on his prey, then stings them hard and sucks them dry. He is extremely vicious though not particularly brainy. You can’t get blood from a rock, but Mosquitor™ has tried in his day. Mosquitor™ drains his enemies of their energy while his bionic stinger and chest oozes red with power. Even Hordak® keeps his distance from The Evil Horde™ vampire!
