Hey guys! It’s a new year, and here’s the first batch of custom of 2013. First, I’ve done a 3 3/4″ scale set of the Wonder Twins with their monkey pal Gleek to fit in with the DC Infinite Heroes figures. Then, I made a 6″ figure of the character Ian Glover Vampire Hunter from the Webcomic series of the same name, by Jayfri Hashim. Click here to check out the Webcomic, it’s pretty awesome. And click on each photo below to go to the custom’s corresponding page to check out the full photo set and descriptions for how I made them. Thanks for looking!

Review – Azrael – Arkham City, DC Collectibles
Following DC Collectibles’ huge success with their line of figures based on the video game Arkham Asylum, they’re now into series 3 of their line of Arkham City figures. Series 3 includes the subject of today’s review, Azrael. He was featured in the game in one of the side missions, but was not really integral to the plot. Still, he’s been one of the more popular Batman characters since he first appeared in the 90’s, and action figures of him usually sell very well. So it’s no surprise that DC Collectibles would pick him for a figure to be made, seeing as how he’s a popular character from an immensely popular video game.
But does the figure live up to the hype? Keep reading and find out as I take a closer look.

Review – Castle Grayskullman – Masters of the Universe Classics, Mattel
Back in 2011, Mattel held a Create-A-Character contest for their Masters of the Universe Classics line. The idea was that you could submit as many character designs as you wanted, and the winner would be made into an action figure in 2012 for their 30th Anniversary sub line. Nobody but the people at Mattel knew who the winner was until the big reveal at San Diego Comic-Con this past Summer. Lo and behold the winning figure was none other than the subject of this review, Castle Grayskullman! He was created by Daniel Benedict and ever since the reveal has met with mostly positive reactions. To many fans, it was clear why Mattel picked this as the winner, as it seemed to perfectly represent the spirit of the contest and Masters of the Universe as a brand. It seemed like something that could have sincerely been a figure back in the vintage line, which I think gave it that edge.
But that’s, of course, speaking purely of the design. How does the figure hold up though? Join me as I take a closer look and find out.
CASTLE GRAYSKULLMAN
Heroic Embodiment of Castle Grayskull™REALNAME: Not Applicable
During the Second Ultimate Battleground, Hordak® and King Hssss’ grand army pressed in against the allied heroes of Eternia®. In the darkest moment of battle, all hope seemed lost as many heroes fell, including Snake Man-At-Arms® and Stratos®. Reaching out through the Orb of Power, hidden deep inside Castle Grayskull®, He-Man® and the new Sorceress® used an unrepeatable spell to call upon the Powers of Grayskull™ and infuse life into the very spirit of the castle itself. Rising from the castle’s hidden Chamber of Defense; Castle Grayskullman™ marched into battle, swinging his dual swords of power, helping to turn the tide.
News – Masters of the Universe Classics Spotted at Wal-Mart
A thread over on the He-Man.org forums has been posted of someone finding an endcap full of Masters of the Universe Classics Roboto and Gygor figures at a Moreno Valley, California Wal-Mart. This photo was speculated by many to be fake, and with good cause since this is unannounced from Mattel. However, He-Man.org user Dredgen posted a second photo of the figures he purchased, along with a receipt. So it seems clear that he did in fact find MOTUC figures at a Walmart.
Apparently Roboto was selling for $16.97 and Gygor was selling for $24.97. It is yet unclear why Wal-Mart is selling these since these figures are supposed to be online exclusives through Mattel’s Mattycollector.com website. What’s stranger is that this Walmart is selling the figures for much cheaper than Mattel originally sold them for.

New Customs – Life Sized Mortal Kombat Prop Replicas
Hey guys! Got some new customs for you this week. However, instead of custom action figures, I have three custom prop replicas for your viewing pleasure. It’s my first foray into this territory, and was incredibly challenging, and a blast to do. I learned a lot working on these props and hope to continue being able to do similar things in the future.
All three props are based on the video game series Mortal Kombat. I was tasked with creating a light-up fireball that could be made to look as if it was shooting from your hand, similar to Liu Kang, a light-up ice ball with the same stipulation, similar to Sub-Zero, and a completely posable chain with a spear head on the end that could also be made to look as if shooting from your hand, similar to what Scorpion uses. Just click on each photo below to go to the corresponding page and check out the full photo spreads for each prop, as well as a TON of WIP photos for each and lengthy descriptions retelling the entire processes.
I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for looking.
