darkknight asks: Will there still be Movie Masters figures made in the 6″ scale for future DC movies? The information revealed at SDCC has many fans worried that there will be no more 6″ Movie Masters figures at all, so it would be great if that could get cleared up. I hope there will continue to be 6″ Movie Masters.

At this time the future of the line is in the 4″ scale but it doesn’t mean we couldn’t return to 6″ in the future.

EctoCooler asks: On Mattycollector.com, it says fans have until November 5th to pre-order, but Toyguru recently posted an update about the Ecto-1 and the subscriptions and said August 19th was the deadline. Was this a typo, or has it been changed? Because that’s a mighty big typo if so. A lot of Ghostbusters fans are panicking because of it.

Mattel Mattycollector Logo

This will be the last Ask Mattel Q&A session until August, since 2013 San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner and therefore there will be nobody at Mattel to answer questions for a while. And judging by some of the answers here, that may have already started. But here we go!

superpowersfan asks: If we get around to a super powers deco kalibak in the dcie will he be oversized like his classic comic counterpart or 6″ but stout , wide and bulky.

Either way might be possible. What would the fans prefer?

superpowersfan asks: With the exception of the super powers deco penguin in wave 1 of batman unlimited we havent gotten a single classic character or a list her or viklain in a classic variant in the retail line. Is the retail of dc and batman unlimited only going to feature new media incarnations from comics, video games and cartoons exclusively or can we expect an 80s or 90s character or characters

Hey everyone. I should have posted this yesterday, but I completely spaced. But here are the answers Mattel sent in for this session of Ask Mattel!

Black Arbor asks: Concerning the Power Attack Batman line: One of the deluxe Batman figures came with a cardboard cutout of Scarecrow. I’m just wondering, is that an indication that a Scarecrow figure is in the works? I really hope so, the design looks Awesome!

Scarecrow is a top Batman villain and will almost certainly be a part of the Batman Power Attack/ Evergreen line at some point… though his design has gone through some evolutions over the last year from the time that target figure artwork was created!

Mint Condition Customs asks: So on the Toys “R” Us website, there are 8 different Man of Steel movie masters figures listed. The 8th one is a mystery though, as there’s no description, name for the character, or picture. Is this is a mistake by Toys “R” Us, or is there an 8th figure on the way, and if so is this character deliberately being held back for reveal until the movie premieres?

GRUNDY asks: Does Mattel have any plans in the works for Batman’s 75th Anniversary in 2014 ? I’m not asking for specifics, since every thing Mattel does for DC is usually talked about years in advance, just wondering if anything is planned to commemorate one of your biggest sellers for the DC lines.

You’ll have to wait for SDCC for any news on 2014. We have some great stuff to share at the show!

Perry asks: Was the Voltron line cancelled or will it renew later in the year?

Tom asks: If the CIE line has to be planned out a year in advance, according to Toy Guru, to give time for sculpting why don’t we at least know the list of characters planned for the year when the subscription comes out? Even if a substitution has to be made for a figure or two, we would at least know what characters we are investing in rather than waiting for bits and pieces all year long during the current subscription.

We need flexibility in case the inevitable change happens. Figures originally planned for the line from day one often change due to cost or logistic issues and we don’t want to announce something that is still in the planning stages. Things change a lot in the toy industry which is why we wait until we are 100% (or close to 100%^) sure an item will make it to fans before announcing it. And this doesn’t always happen. Often things still get announced and changes happen.

Chaos! asks: Now that we have seen a Action League type Batman figure in the Target exclusive Justice League line, will Mattel try to release the Robin, Grundy, bat creature Batman, Green Lantern Batman, Phantom Batman and Ted Kord Blue Beetle BATB Action League figures that never made it out ? You already gave us Green Lantern Sinestro, Deadman, Kite Plasticman and Bronze Tiger from that line, please give us the others somehow.
