Something that some people may have forgotten about is that NECA has an upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins 1/4 scale action figure! It was on display at the 2014 New York Toy Fair. Now, NECA has taken some really great photos of the Batman: Arkham Origins figure to give everyone a much better look at what they’re getting. It’s hard to tell from the photos, but this figure does have upper torso articulation, like a floating ab joint. The NECA Batman: Arkham Origins 1/4 scale figure is due out in May of 2014.
Over the past few weeks, DC has posted a short video series on their Youtube channel showing the sculpting process of their upcoming Arkham City Clayface action figure. It was sculpted by Phil Ramirezd, who also sculpted the Arkham City Killer Croc figure, amongst many others.
Hey everyone. If you haven’t noticed by now, I have a couple of new customs up this week. First up is an Arkham Origins Batman. I took the Mattel Batman Unlimited figure and gave him lots of extra articulation (including an ab joint!) so now he can be posed much more dynamically. Next, I took the new Marvel Legends Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie figure and gave him a full repaint, gave it some magnetic feet, an alternate Andrew Garfield Peter Parker head, a web line, and a rooftop display base! Both customs are also currently for auction on eBay for those who might be interested. Just click on each photo below to go to the corresponding eBay auction, and be sure to check out the full photo set and descriptions for each custom as well. Thanks for looking!

The Mattel Batman Unlimited Arkham Origins Batman figure looks great, and has wonderful poseability from the waist down (double knee joints!), but was severely lacking in the upper body area. I went through and gave the figure a bunch of new articulation. First thing I did was take some pieces from a movie Mr. Fantastic figure and gave Batman double elbow joints. This also still allows for a bicep swivel, and even a swivel at the glove. I’ve also given him a floating ab joint! This took a very long time to carefully get done, but basically it involved a lot of scoring with an X-Acto knife so I wouldn’t have to use two figures. I implanted some parts from a NECA figure and made it all fit, and now Batman can bend forward, backward, even side-to-side! An ab joint is one of the most important on a figure. It can make or break a pose, so I couldn’t let the lack of an ab joint slide. To top it off, I drilled a small hole in his hand and now he can hold a batarang! Batman can’t always rely on his fists, after all. With Batman’s added articulation, he’s now ready to take down the criminals of Gotham City!
I dub this Batman Week here at Mint Condition Customs, and to celebrate it I bring you not, not two, but three new customs! This week I have a new custom Deadshot figure, based on his appearance in the Gotham Knight animated feature, a custom Arkham Asylum Joker figure that I added lots of new articulation too, and an Arkham Origins style Deathstroke, complete with unmasked Slade Wilson head! Be sure to click the links to see the full photo sets and descriptions for how each custom was made. Thanks for looking!
And these are also currently for auction on eBay. Just click each photo below to go to the corresponding page on eBay. If you’re interested, feel free to bid. If you know someone who might be, please pass the link along. Thanks for looking!

I’ve always loved the design of the Arkham Asylum Joker figure, but being a DC Direct figure it was severely lacking in the articulation. I aimed to change that, so I took the existing figure and made him really poseable. I shaved away some plastic inside the shoulders and hips and greatly improved their range of motion. I also sliced the arms and legs and made some bicep and thigh swivels, and I popped apart the torso from the legs and made a waist rotator joint (that’s right, the original figure couldn’t even turn at the waist!). So now that the Joker can actually move, he’s ready take on the Batman as the Clown Prince of Crime!

Deadshot is the result of an amalgam of inspiration, mostly from the animated film Gotham Knight, but also from the Arkham City video game. I loved Deadshot’s design in Gotham Knight, with his big hat and trench coat, so I took a ML Nick Fury coat and repainted it, and the hat is from a Mezco The Spirit “Octopus” figure, also repainted. The head started out as a DCUC Blue Beetle that I sculpted and painted over to make him at least partially resemble Deadshot in the Arkham City video game. The finishing touches were switching out his fists for open hands so he could actually hold a rifle, and now Deadshot is ready to take on Batman (from afar of course).
The other day a teaser image of the upcoming NECA Arkham Origins 1/4 Scale Batman figure was posted on the NECA Twitter page. It’s expected to be released in early 2014, but NECA always relishes an opportunity to show off teasers of upcoming products to get the fans drooling in anticipation.

I know it’s been a couple of days since the reveal of the upcoming DC Collectibles Batman: Arkham Origins figures, but they just revealed a brand new Arkham Asylum Bane figure to be released, so I thought I’d put everything in this one post! Yes that’s right, good news for Arkham Asylum Bane fans. Many fans have lamented that figure, because for the longest time he’s been extremely expensive on the secondary market. Heck, I even sold mine a couple of months back, just in case DC Collectibles decided to make a new one. I guess I was right! So for those who missed out on him, you get another (better) chance. Bane will be in a two-pack with Arkham Asylum Batman later this year, and will be taller, and have lots more articulation than before.
