It’s been a good year for DC fans. We got a great first year with Mattel’s DC Universe Signature Collection via Mattycollector, and we have two new lines at retail: DC Unlimited and Batman Unlimited. While the Signature Collection will focus on more fan demanded classic characters, both DC and Batman Unlimited will focus on the big guns, and not much else. These figures are, for the most part, New 52 inspired, which brings us to the figure we’ll be looking at today: New 52 Batgirl.

New Custom Action Figure – Commissioner Gordon, DCUC Style
Hey there! This week’s new custom is a 6″ DC Universe Classics style Commissioner Gordon. I’ve felt that he has been long overdo in this line and wanted to fix it. He’s made using parts from the recent DC Universe Signature Collection John Constantine, and some parts from the DC Direct Hush Gordon figure, and of course some painting. Click the photo below to check out the full spread of pictures and a full description. Thanks for looking!

While Mattel gave us a good Commissioner Gordon action figure in the Dark Knight Movie Masters line, it’s just far too short and lacks the comic book aesthetics to blend in with DC Universe Classics. A DCUC Gordon is long overdo, which is what prompted this. I made him using the body from a DC Universe Signature Collection John Constantine figure, the head and tie from a DC Direct Hush Gordon figure, and the glasses from a Movie Masters Gordon. Constantine’s tie was loose and ragged looking, hence the change to a more professional look. I painted the pants to resemble tan khakis, and painted his face to cover up that red nose Gordon was sporting before. I gave him some new glasses, since the ones he came with are worthless, gave him his pistol, and now he’s ready to help Batman clean up the streets of Gotham City!
Review – Black Mask – DC Universe Signature Collection, Mattel
One of the surprises from the DC Signature Collection online subscription is the inclusion of the classic Batman villain Black Mask. Before signing up, we knew we were getting Poison Ivy, but we had no idea we’d be getting another Batman Rogue in the first year, let alone Black Mask. The reaction to him was definitely somewhat split. Many fans loved the way he looked, while others were disappointed that we weren’t getting the original look for Black Mask in figure form. While it certainly would have been cool to get an alternate head for him of his original look, complete with the fedora and Tommy gun, I’m actually happy with the version they decided on. It’s definitely more well known and has gotten more exposure as the look for Black Mask, so it’s easy to see why they picked it. So now that he’s been released, join me as I take a closer look at the DC Signature Collection Black Mask action figure.
News – DC Universe Knightfall & Lantern 2 Packs Found at Ross
People are starting to find the DC Universe Knightfall and “War of the Green Lanterns” 2 packs at Ross stores. This is surprising, because originally these weren’t even going to be released in the United States. Then not too long ago, Toys “R” Us stores in the U.S. started stocking them, surprising many fans. But now they’re showing up at Ross at a discounted price.
Review – Poison Ivy – DC Universe Signature Collection, Mattel
When Mattel first announced the DC: Club Infinite Earths online subscription program, the big incentive to get people to sign up for it was the promise of a DC Universe Classics Poison Ivy action figure. She was one of the most fan demanded figures in the entire line, and Mattel never did get to her, until the Club idea came up. I don’t know how responsible Poison Ivy was in getting it to happen, but the Club did get its minimum number of subscribers, and true to their word, Mattel released a Poison Ivy 6″ action figure this past October. Join me as I take a closer look at the DC Signature Collection Poison Ivy action figure and determine whether or not she’s worthy to join the rest of Batman’s Rogues Gallery.

News – DC Collectibles Arkham City Series 4 Revealed
It was announced yesterday that DC Collectibles would be showcasing a lot of new product this weekend at New York Comic-Con. Amongst everything was Arkham City series 4, revealing Nightwing, Talia Al Ghul, and a brand new Batman figure (that’s right, not the same one they’ve been using since wave 1 of Arkham Asylum) with a very wide range of articulation, something DC Collectibles is not known for.
