Guide to Repairing Arkham City Killer Croc Broken Shoulder
If there’s one thing DC Collectibles (formerly DC Direct) is known for, it’s making figures with great sculpts and paint jobs. Something they’re not usually known for is making incredibly stable action figures. Such is the case with the Deluxe Arkham City Killer Croc figure. Almost immediately after it was released, people started reporting Croc’s arm (usually the left one, for some reason) just falling off on its own. No provocation, no dropping, just standing perfectly still on the shelf, and the weight of the arm itself somehow shearing the shoulder peg in two. Clearly, the joint pegs and discs used in this figure wasn’t very strong, but still in my case it did actually take the Croc figure falling from a great height to break his shoulder. Again in my case, it was the right shoulder. So of course I then wanted to go about not only fixing the figure, but creating a tutorial on how anyone could fix their own Croc’s arm, without having to worry about spending money replacing it.
For this tutorial, you’ll need the following: 14 Gauge Galvanized Steel bendable Wire (Found at the Walmart hardware sextion, or any hardware store), pliers, Krazy Glue (or any kind of super adhesive you prefer), and your Dremel (with drill bits).
Let’s begin!
That’s the end of this guide. Thanks for looking, and I hope this help everyone out there with a broken Killer Croc!

Thanks to the website Marshallalloc.blog, we now can see the images of the new Batman Play Arts Kai Figures that had been displayed at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. New Custom Action Figure – Classic Comic Style Bat Signal 6″ Scaled Light-Up Display
For this week’s new custom, it’s not so much an action figure, as an action figure display piece. With the recent Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters Collect and Connect Bat Signal being released, I decided to give it a classic comic style bat emblem in place of the Nolan style movie emblem. I know many fans were wondering why Mattel hadn’t released a comic style Bat Signal before, so I wanted to change that.
Click here to view the whole photo set, and to read up on how I created the emblem.
And if you’re interested, it’s currently for sale on eBay from now until next Sunday night.
Thanks for looking.

For many fans, it was bittersweet when Mattel announced a collect and connect Bat Signal being released. It was amazing that a real working projecting Bat Signal on a 6″ scale was coming out, but it was for the movie line, meaning it had the movie emblem on the front. It was a turn off for many people, so I wanted to bring to life the classic styled Bat Signal. I used precision cutting from a stencil I made in Photoshop of the classic comic emblem, and cut the emblem out of polystyrene. I gave it a weathered metal look. I wanted it to look as if it had been painted black, but over the years the paint was scratching away. I used acetone to remove the painted movie emblem from the lens of the Bat Signal, and carefully glued the new one in place, making sure everything was lined up just right. The signal still lights up just fine, and projects the new emblem amazingly on the wall. Perhaps Mattel will release a comic style Bat Signal one day, but now at least you no longer have to imagine what it might look like.
New Custom Action Figures – Darth Knight 2.0, Dial Tone (G.I. Joe), James Bond (Daniel Craig) 3 3/4″, and Rene Belloq (Indiana Jones) 3 3/4″
Today I’ve got not one, not two, but 4 new custom action figures! I got them done quickly so I wanted to share them together. First up, we have Darth Knight 2.0. If you remember my first Darth Knight custom, it was pretty popular. I’ve updated the detailing on it, and added a couple of new custom accessories as well! Next, we have a 25th Anniversary style G.I. Joe Dial Tone. He’s a recreation of the G.I. Joe Club exclusive Dial Tone figure that is so hard to come by now. I figured out which parts were used, and got a cast head, backpack, and gun from my friend Alyosha over at Broken Arrow Toys, and painted it up! Then, there’s my custom 3 3/4″ Daniel Craig James Bond. He was made from the body of a Rise of Cobra James McCullen, and the head from a Golden Compass figure. And last up, we have Rene Belloq, from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. This figure is a 3 3/4″ as well, meant to fit in with the other Hasbro figures. They never made a figure of Belloq in his white suit, so I took a Jazwares A-Team Face figure, painted it up, and gave him the head from a Rise of Cobra James McCullen with painted hair, and the fedora from an Indiana Jones.

Recently, I felt like updating my Darth Knight figure design. The recipe is the same as before. I used the body from a Movie Masters Dark Knight Batman, and the head, chest plate, belt pieces, and light saber from a Transformers Crossovers Darth Vader figure. The ears were sculpted on, and then painted over. The silver detailing is much crisper this time, and the skirting is also cleaner. This time, I wanted to give him a couple of new accessories, so I took one of the wings from the Darth Vader Transformers figure (he turned into a Tie Fighter) and turned it into a shield he can hold in either hand. I also took some clear styrene and cut it in the shape of a Batarang, and painted it with clear red and flat black over that. My thinking was the black parts would be the framework, and the clear red would be light saber energy flowing throughout, so that it could cut through anything. With that, Darth Knight 2.0 was finished.
New Custom – Batman (Animated Series Style) 6″ DC Universe Action Figure
That’s right, my latest custom takes Bruce Timm’s artwork from Batman the Animated Series and turns it into a fully articulated 6″ action figure. It’s meant to be in style with DC Universe Classics figures, but the head sculpt and paint job are distinctively based on the animated series style. He was given a cell shaded paint job, cartoon accurate head sculpt, and a cartoon accurate grapple gun as well.
Be sure to check out a couple of photos below, and click here to check out the full set of pictures, plus a detailed description on the process behind the custom.
This Animated Batman custom is also currently for sale on eBay for anyone interested. If you know someone who might be, pass the link along.

Batman the Animated Series is considered one of the best cartoons ever made. I’ve been wanting to capture his likeness in action figure form for quite some time, so I finally set out to do it. He’s made using a DCUC Batman Gotham 5 pack body, DCUC Public Enemies Batman head, and the cape from a 6 inch Young Justice Batman.
I modified the head by sculpting onto his ears to make them longer and to make his jaw bigger and more square. I painted him all over giving a cel shaded look, just like the cartoon, even going so far as to match the harsh blue highlights you see on his cape, cowl, boots, and gloves in the cartoon. After the paint job was finished and head was fully painted, I fashioned him a cartoon accurate grapple gun using parts from a DCUC grapple gun and part of a Revoltech stand that I fit over it. Then I took some thin wire and made a rope that can be attached inside the gun, and attached to the grapple on the other end to give off the appearance that he just fired it off. After giving him a batarang from a 6 inch Young Justice Robin figure, Batman was finished and ready to protect the streets of Gotham, with the menacing voice that only Kevin Conroy can provide.
