Bluefin Tamashii Nations has posted new official images for their upcoming S.H. Figuarts Vegeta figure! We already received a Super Saiyan version but fan demand has been high for a regular Saiyan, first appearance version for a long time. Hopefully this means the normal Saiyan version of S.H. Figuarts Son Goku isn’t far behind. He’s set to come with alternate faces, alternate hands, a removable scouter, and a blast effect with a stage act stand to help display it.
S.H. Figuarts Vegeta will retail for ¥3,990 yen (roughly $50 USD) and is scheduled for an April 2013 release. You can pre order Vegeta right now through BigBadToyStore. Hurry before it’s sold out!

Mattel manages to spread out the characters in the Masters of the Universe Classics toy line by having an equal amount of the more popular characters with the lesser known characters. This is a great business strategy, and makes it even more exciting when one of your favorites finally shows up. Mekaneck is one of my top 3 favorite MOTU characters (the other two being Man-E-Faces, and my absolute favorite which is Rio Blast), and it’s grea to finally have him in the line. He’s without a doubt an essential character to the Masters of the Universe mythos, being that his was one of the figures released early on, when MOTU was still a new brand.
So join me as I take a closer look at Mekaneck and see if he’s lived up to the expectations of many fans.
MEKANECK
Heroic Human Periscope!™REAL NAME: Orius
Injured in the Battle of the Avion during the Great Unrest, Orius was brought by Duncan to Castle Grayskull where he was healed by the Sorceress. The magic spell replaced his neck with an ever-expanding mechanical construction made of microscopic nanites. By increasing or decreasing the number of nanites in his body, Orius gained the ability to grow his neck to almost unlimited length. Taking the code name Mekaneck, he served the royal household as a loyal member of the Masters of the Universe, using his amazing periscope neck to spy on the evil enemy.
Matthew Cody asks: What can the fans of CIE do now to ensure a subscription offering for 2014?
They can support the day of sales for 2013 figures and if a sub is offered in 2014 they can support that.
James Roebuck asks: Is it possible to have more Fan Choice action figures for Club Infinite Earths?
More likely fan choice slots will be for a retail line. We don’t have plans for a fan’s choice on Mattycollector.com
Timb asks: What has mattel done, if anything to bring shipping prices down? I recently ordered 5 figures and paid $5 ups shipping from dc collectibles.

I just got word today that both the Masters of the Universe Classics Procustus and Granamyr figures are delayed. Both are set to go on sale this month, December 17th. They will still be on sale, but they will not ship until they’ve arrived in the warehouse. We already got some word that Gramanyr was delayed, but Procrustus being delayed was quite surprising. Anything ordered with Granamyr and Procrustus will also be delayed, so everything can ship at the same time.
One of the surprises from the DC Signature Collection online subscription is the inclusion of the classic Batman villain Black Mask. Before signing up, we knew we were getting Poison Ivy, but we had no idea we’d be getting another Batman Rogue in the first year, let alone Black Mask. The reaction to him was definitely somewhat split. Many fans loved the way he looked, while others were disappointed that we weren’t getting the original look for Black Mask in figure form. While it certainly would have been cool to get an alternate head for him of his original look, complete with the fedora and Tommy gun, I’m actually happy with the version they decided on. It’s definitely more well known and has gotten more exposure as the look for Black Mask, so it’s easy to see why they picked it. So now that he’s been released, join me as I take a closer look at the DC Signature Collection Black Mask action figure.

People are starting to find the DC Universe Knightfall and “War of the Green Lanterns” 2 packs at Ross stores. This is surprising, because originally these weren’t even going to be released in the United States. Then not too long ago, Toys “R” Us stores in the U.S. started stocking them, surprising many fans. But now they’re showing up at Ross at a discounted price.
NECA just revealed images of their upcoming 1/4 scale Bilbo Baggins action figure, based on the portrayal by Martin Freeman in the movie The Hobbit. He will be in scale with previous figures like Gollum, and the classic NECA Epic scale collection of Aragorn, Legolas, and Gandalf action figures.
