The Alfred figure is partly inspired by his look from Batman the Animated Series, but ultimately made to blend in with the other DCUC figures. Bruce Wayne is of course inspired by his design in Batman: Arkham City, and is made to fit in with the other DC Collectibles or Mattel Arkham City figures. New Custom Figures – Wonder Twins 3 3/4″ Scale and Ian Glover Vampire Hunter

Hey guys! It’s a new year, and here’s the first batch of custom of 2013. First, I’ve done a 3 3/4″ scale set of the Wonder Twins with their monkey pal Gleek to fit in with the DC Infinite Heroes figures. Then, I made a 6″ figure of the character Ian Glover Vampire Hunter from the Webcomic series of the same name, by Jayfri Hashim. Click here to check out the Webcomic, it’s pretty awesome. And click on each photo below to go to the custom’s corresponding page to check out the full photo set and descriptions for how I made them. Thanks for looking!

New Customs – Life Sized Mortal Kombat Prop Replicas

Hey guys! Got some new customs for you this week. However, instead of custom action figures, I have three custom prop replicas for your viewing pleasure. It’s my first foray into this territory, and was incredibly challenging, and a blast to do. I learned a lot working on these props and hope to continue being able to do similar things in the future.

All three props are based on the video game series Mortal Kombat. I was tasked with creating a light-up fireball that could be made to look as if it was shooting from your hand, similar to Liu Kang, a light-up ice ball with the same stipulation, similar to Sub-Zero, and a completely posable chain with a spear head on the end that could also be made to look as if shooting from your hand, similar to what Scorpion uses. Just click on each photo below to go to the corresponding page and check out the full photo spreads for each prop, as well as a TON of WIP photos for each and lengthy descriptions retelling the entire processes.

I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for looking.

New Custom Action Figures – Shroud & Flash Thompson Venom, Marvel Legends Style

Hey there. This week’s new customs are both Marvel based. One of them is a more obscure character by the name of Shroud, while the other is decidedly less obscure, Flash Thompson Venom. These were both a lot of fun to do. I took some artistic liberties with Shroud, such as using the very stylized Spawn cape and the textured Black Panther body. Venom required a ton of sculpting and fodder pieces to complete, but I’m happy with both results. Just click on the photos below to visit their corresponding pages so you can view the complete photo sets and the descriptions. Thanks for looking!

New Custom Action Figure – Commissioner Gordon, DCUC Style

Hey there! This week’s new custom is a 6″ DC Universe Classics style Commissioner Gordon. I’ve felt that he has been long overdo in this line and wanted to fix it. He’s made using parts from the recent DC Universe Signature Collection John Constantine, and some parts from the DC Direct Hush Gordon figure, and of course some painting. Click the photo below to check out the full spread of pictures and a full description. Thanks for looking!

New Custom Action Figures – 3 3/4″ U-Foes, Marvel Universe Style

Hey guys! It’s been a little while, I know. But here I present some new custom action figures for your viewing pleasure. I made a full set of the Marvel U-Foes on a 3 3/4″ scale using Marvel Universe action figures as the base. If you’re unfamiliar with the U-Foes, they consist of Ironclad, Vapor, Vector, and X-Ray. They were a fun project, and after you check out the pictures and description for Vector, you’ll see just how much work went into them. Just click on each photo below to go to the corresponding page for that custom. Thanks for looking, and until next time!

New Custom – Ghostbusters Ecto Containment Unit with Lights and Sounds

Custom Ghostbusters 6" Scale Mattel Containment Unit Lights SoundsHey guys! Just wanted to let you know about my latest custom. It’s the Ghostbusters Ecto Containment Unit. I took the one that originally came packaged with Mattel’s Walter Peck action figure, and really went to work on it. The whole thing has been repainted to give it realistic weathering. Then I used up a lot of resources, particularly on GBFans.com and found reference for all the decals that the Containment Unit had in the movie. I went into Photoshop and made HD versions of all of them, printed them on decal paper, and applied them all over the Containment Unit, even on the Ghost Trap enclosure.

I also installed lights and sounds inside the body. I got really lucky there, since the inside is hollow. Both the red and green lights turn on with the flick of the corresponding switch on the back. There’s also a button, and when you press it it plays the “shutdown” noise from the scene where Walter Peck was the Containment Unit turned off unsafely and causes it to explode.

Because the sound has to be run by a 9V battery, I fashioned a housing for it that fits right on the back and I painted it up and added decals to make it look like an old worn electrical box, to help it blend in with everything else. The lights are powered by a CR2032 battery that you can access on the bottom.

Be sure to click here or on the photo below to check out the full set of photos. You can also see the Containment Unit in action by watching the video below as well.

And if this is something you’d like to own, it’s currently for auction on eBay with just a starting bid of $1.00! Thanks for looking.

New Custom Action Figure – Logan/Wolverine, X-Men Movie Style

Hey guys. I have a new custom up in the archive. This time, I did Logan as he was portrayed by Hugh Jackman in the various X-Men movies, as a way to help celebrate the new movie, The Wolverine, coming out next year. He comes with a great likeness to Jackman, removable jacket, two sets of arms (jacketed, and bare), and two sets of hands (claws out, and normal fists), and is fully poseable. Be sure to check out the full photo set and description by clicking here.

And if you’re interested at all in this custom, he’s currently for sale on eBay.

New Custom Action Figure – Amazing Spider-Man with Movie Accurate Repaint & Magnetic Feet

For this week’s new custom, I have something from the Amazing Spider-Man movie. I recently picked up the new Walmart exclusive 6″ figures, and loved the articulation for the Spider-Man figure, but the paint job was severely lacking. So much so that there was hardly any detail on him at all, and the paint scheme was not movie accurate at all. So I went through and gave him a full repaint, head to toe. He has dark washes and bright highlights to bring out the sculpt, I outlined all the webbing on his suit, and lightly dry brushed some mithril silver to give him that slightly metallic look that he had in the movie. I also added powerful magnets in his feet so now he’s officially a “wall crawler” and can stick to any metal surface.

And if you’re interested, it’s currently for sale on eBay from now until next Sunday night.

New Custom Action Figure – Classic Comic Style Bat Signal 6″ Scaled Light-Up Display

For this week’s new custom, it’s not so much an action figure, as an action figure display piece. With the recent Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters Collect and Connect Bat Signal being released, I decided to give it a classic comic style bat emblem in place of the Nolan style movie emblem. I know many fans were wondering why Mattel hadn’t released a comic style Bat Signal before, so I wanted to change that.
