BBTS Is About to Make A Lot of Customizers Very Happy

While browsing BigBadToyStore today, I came across something interesting. It was a bunch of new products from a company called Hobby Base, and they’re perfect for customizers, like myself. It’s a bunch of different figure joints of varying sizes and colors, various strips and sheets of plastic, and just generally a bunch of really cool stuff that I know I could use. I’m always on the lookout for random ball joints to help make figures more posable, and I think this is amazing.

I’ll definitely be stocking up on these, and if you’re a customizer at all, you should do the same. Click here to view the whole assortment of products from Hobby Base currently for pre order.

Mattel Wants to Know Why You’ve Stopped Collecting MOTUC

Mattel He-Man Masters of the Universe Classics Fisto 6" Action FigureHave you slowed down, or stopped altogether, on collecting Masters of the Universe Classics? Mattel wants to know why. There’s an official Mattel poll over on He-Man.org, posted by Scott Neitlich (AKA ToyGuru) asking why you’ve changed your MOTUC collecting habits. If you’re still a happy, passionate collector, you need not take the poll. However, if you are feeling lackluster in regards to MOTUC, take the poll and let Mattel know why. This seems like a great way to crowd source and maybe help Mattel make some changes to the line that will help it in the long run.

News – TMNT Classics Bebop and Rocksteady Figures Coming From Playmates

For fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classics figures that started last year, there’s some great news. Two new figures are officially on the way, Bebop and Rocksteady! Playmates updated their website with the two characters, both in silhouette, with the words “COMING SOON!” over them. A lot of people assumed they’d be in the next lineup, and it looks as if that assumption is correct.

Of course with these two characters on the way, there’s a good chance we’ll get the big guy himself, Shredder! How awesome would that be to get all three in the same series? It will be interesting to see how tall they are. Considering the four turtles themselves are exactly at 6″, Bebop and Rocksteady would have to be at least 8″ to be in proper scale. Hopefully we’ll see prototypes of these guys (and maybe more) in February during Toy Fair 2013. I definitely can’t wait to see what Playmates has up their sleeves!

News – Masters of the Universe Classics Spotted at Wal-Mart

A thread over on the He-Man.org forums has been posted of someone finding an endcap full of Masters of the Universe Classics Roboto and Gygor figures at a Moreno Valley, California Wal-Mart. This photo was speculated by many to be fake, and with good cause since this is unannounced from Mattel. However, He-Man.org user Dredgen posted a second photo of the figures he purchased, along with a receipt. So it seems clear that he did in fact find MOTUC figures at a Walmart.

Apparently Roboto was selling for $16.97 and Gygor was selling for $24.97. It is yet unclear why Wal-Mart is selling these since these figures are supposed to be online exclusives through Mattel’s Mattycollector.com website. What’s stranger is that this Walmart is selling the figures for much cheaper than Mattel originally sold them for.
