Like many others, I love the Flash TV show. I wanted a 6″ scale version of him, and luckily Mattel delivered. Not so luckily, it was seriously lacking, so I decided to fix it. Here I’ve taken the DC Comics Multiverse 6″ Flash TV Series action figure, and gave him extra articulation and a new paint job! I carefully cut him apart mid torso and used a double ball joint from a NECA figure to place inside so he can rock back and forth, and side to side. I also cut away some plastic around the ankles and his ankles can actually rock so he can better be placed in wide stances and running poses. I fully repainted him, making the reds more vibrant and the emblem white to match The Flash’s look in season 2 of the TV series. I finished it off with a display stand for running poses, and a couple of DCUC clear lightning energy attachments that I painted clear yellow. Now that Flash has a full range of motion, he’s ready to catch the criminals of Central City!

Custom Action Figure – Batman 1989 Movie Style

Hey everyone! My latest custom action figure is up, Batman 1989 movie style! I took the recent NECA Batman Classic Video Game Appearance action figure and completely repainted it. It involved me taking apart the entire figure, including removing the head from the cowl (yeah there’s a Michael Keaton face under there!). I even detailed the face, including the black makeup around the eyes. I also gave my custom Batman 1989 movie figure two capes! One hangs naturally, the other has wires in the top for placing in his hands outstretched like when you first see him in the Batman 1989 movie. Pretty cool, huh? Just click the picture below to take you to the full page with the entire photo set, including a detailed description on the process of making it. Due to the way the license is set up, NECA wasn’t allowed to make a straight 7″ figure of Michael Keaton’s Batman 1989 portrayal. The only way they could do it is to paint it in the old NES video game colors. With the sculpt being excellent, I decided to change it and repaint the entire thing to look just like the Batman 1989 movie. This involved taking apart the entire figure (luckily NECA makes this easy with how their figures are constructed), including removing the head from inside the cowl (yes there’s a full Michael Keaton face under there). All the pieces were prepped, and then painted. I even put detailing in the face, including the black makeup around the eyes. For the cape, I dediced to do something extra. I took some black rayon material, and used a movie accurate cape pattern to make it. I then made a second cape, and added some wires running through the top for Batman to hold in his hands outstretched to mimic when he first appears in the movie. And now this custom Batman 1989 action figure is ready to take down the criminals of Gotham City!

Holy New Custom Action Figures Batman!

Haha, that’s right I have four new customs posted in the archive. I recently did a few quick Batman related customs and wanted to share them with you. They’re all repaints, but I feel they’re pretty nifty. Click the pictures to take you to their pages.

DC Universe 6" Penguin in Black and white tuxedo Mattel Mint Condition Custom Action Figure John HarmonDC Universe 6" Robin Young Justice Teen Titans Mattel Mint Condition Custom Action Figure John HarmonDC Universe 6" Batman Mattel Mint Condition Custom Action Figure John HarmonDC Universe 6" Nightwing New 52 Mattel Mint Condition Custom Action Figure John Harmon

The first one is this custom DC Universe Penguin action figure, repainted in a completely black and white tuxedo. The next one is a Young Justice Robin action figure, repainted in Teen Titans cartoon colors as a mashup of the two designs. The third is a modern comics style DC Universe Batman. This exact version of Batman has never been done by Mattel and I never understood why. This is, in my opinion, THE version of Batman. And lastly, I leave you with a Nightwing in New 52 colors. He was a lot of fun to do, although it was also very frustrating ha ha. Click the link to his page to see what I mean.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you dig the new customs.
