New Custom Action Figure! – Dark Claw from Amalgam Comics (Batman/Wolverine Hybrid)

Hey everyone. I’ve got a new custom action figure to show you. This time I’ve made Dark Claw from Amalgam Comics, the hybrid between Batman and Wolverine during the mid 90’s Marvel VS DC Comics crossover event! Even if you’ve never read the comic, you’re probably familiar with the image. He has a striking and ridiculous design, and the fact that it’s Batman and Wolverine combined makes sense that he’s always been a fan favorite. This was a commissioned piece. Dark Claw is made from a Marvel Legends Juggernaut Wave Wolverine, with a whole bunch of sculpting, fabricating, and painting, with a poseable cape! New Custom Figures – Wonder Twins 3 3/4″ Scale and Ian Glover Vampire Hunter

Hey guys! It’s a new year, and here’s the first batch of custom of 2013. First, I’ve done a 3 3/4″ scale set of the Wonder Twins with their monkey pal Gleek to fit in with the DC Infinite Heroes figures. New Custom Action Figures – Darth Knight 2.0, Dial Tone (G.I. Joe), James Bond (Daniel Craig) 3 3/4″, and Rene Belloq (Indiana Jones) 3 3/4″

Today I’ve got not one, not two, but 4 new custom action figures! I got them done quickly so I wanted to share them together. First up, we have Darth Knight 2.0. If you remember my first Darth Knight custom, it was pretty popular. I’ve updated the detailing on it, and added a couple of new custom accessories as well! Next, we have a 25th Anniversary style G.I. Joe Dial Tone. He’s a recreation of the G.I. Joe Club exclusive Dial Tone figure that is so hard to come by now. I figured out which parts were used, and got a cast head, backpack, and gun from my friend Alyosha over at Broken Arrow Toys, and painted it up! Then, there’s my custom 3 3/4″ Daniel Craig James Bond. He was made from the body of a Rise of Cobra James McCullen, and the head from a Golden Compass figure. And last up, we have Rene Belloq, from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. This figure is a 3 3/4″ as well, meant to fit in with the other Hasbro figures. They never made a figure of Belloq in his white suit, so I took a Jazwares A-Team Face figure, painted it up, and gave him the head from a Rise of Cobra James McCullen with painted hair, and the fedora from an Indiana Jones.

Then we have a custom Marvel Legends style figure of Ms. Marvel as Binary, and last up we have a custom Marvel Legends Moondragon figure.

Holy New Custom Action Figures Batman!

Haha, that’s right I have four new customs posted in the archive. I recently did a few quick Batman related customs and wanted to share them with you. They’re all repaints, but I feel they’re pretty nifty. Click the pictures to take you to their pages.

The first one is this custom DC Universe Penguin action figure, repainted in a completely black and white tuxedo. The next one is a Young Justice Robin action figure, repainted in Teen Titans cartoon colors as a mashup of the two designs. The third is a modern comics style DC Universe Batman. This exact version of Batman has never been done by Mattel and I never understood why. This is, in my opinion, THE version of Batman. And lastly, I leave you with a Nightwing in New 52 colors. He was a lot of fun to do, although it was also very frustrating ha ha. Click the link to his page to see what I mean.

Four New Guides Posted in the Tutorials Section

Hey everybody! I just wanted to let you guys know that I posted 4 new tutorials. One of them is a very quick one, that’s just a little trick on how to help preserve your paints:

Another one is a very important one that teaches you how to properly prepare your figures for painting and sculpting, and how to eliminate joint rub. Remember, customizing is 90% preparation, and 10% artistry so if you’re just getting into customizing, or having a problem with paint not adhering right, then you should definitely read this tutorial:

The next two sort of go together. One teaches you how to use a soldering iron to put together an LED circuit. The other teaches you how to install in LED circuit in an action figure. I thought about putting them in one guide, but ultimately decided on two since each practice can be talked about in great length. That, and there could be a lot of people that already know how to solder, but don’t know how to install the LED circuit in their action figure, so two separate guides was definitely the way to go. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to solder, or how to make your action figures have light-up effects, then these tutorials are for you.
